Many in our communities suffer from an array of lung conditions that affect their activities and quality of life.
This program will help people take back their ability to function and enjoy the things they love to do in life.
It is disheartening and stressful not being able to just perform daily activities when your lung condition limits you or causes frequent exacerbations and infections.
COPD has become the third leading cause of death in the United States behind heart disease and cancer. A study done by the Journal of the American Medical Association in May 2020 concluded that a person hospitalized with COPD can reduce their 1-year mortality rate from 19.4% to 7.3% by attending a Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program within 90 days' post hospitalization.
The American Lung Association stated that poor lung health can increase the likelihood of complications if exposed to Covid-19 infection.
These lung conditions affect both the patient and their families.
